Networking Event and Panel Discussion
There is no denying that the job market is tough no matter where you live in the U.S. Westchester County’s unemployment rate reached 5.7 percent in December 2008, up from 3.7 percent a year earlier. The Westchester Office of Workforce Development recently reported a significant rise in visitors to the county’s One Stop Employment Center in White Plains from 800 in December to 1900 in January.
This event will focus on Westchester County state of the employment market. What do job seekers need to do to increase their “hire” potential. How do human resources professionals and management control the floodgates of hungry, talented jobseekers vying for one position? With Obama’s stimulus plan, what new jobs will be created in Westchester County?
This event will feature a panel of careers, human resources, and marketing professionals to discuss job seeking tips for creatives; job seeking with social media; effective hiring practices; managing the uptick in job applications; common resume blunders; innovative ways to “beef-up” the job search, smart practices for preserving privacy and protecting confidential information as you apply for jobs online.
The event will allow for networking and Concorde Personnel has agreed to set up a table to do speedy resume reviews.
